Life-altering Moments

faith is shaking, mindset is being reconstructed...and this is what i am experiencing right now.
i thought going back to singapore would be a great getaway for me to get those anecdotes and affairs and unrealistic thoughts off my mind, and hence i could move on with my life, like i have been doing for the past few years, i.e. usually, the moment i get off the plane, i will be "nouveau", whatever that has happened in the summer stays in the summer.
unfortunately, the summer of 2009 is destined to be one of the most life-altering and memorable in my life.
i have met so many people, for better or for worse, there were a few i would like to touch on, since they all taught me lessons that will help me survive in this mad mad world.
person A: i loved A, seriously, and i still do. but again, things ended neither badly nor in a good way. we had to split up, for all those unspeakable reasons.
lesson learnt: in a relationship, one would be selfish if he/she thinks that a relationship can only work in a way that he/she deems fit, and ignore what the other really wants, sometimes it's just overwhelming to some party and insufficient for the other.

person L: my big bro who i just knew for less than 3 months. strangely, we hit it off so quickly that neither of us could have expected. we were just two bored "kids" living in the city, and one day, we got connected, and ever since then, he became my new BFF.
lesson learnt: i first wanna thank him for companying me through my toughest time after i broke up with A. L showed me how a relationship should work with his own experience of a 7-year long partnership with his significant other. his successful career also reminded me that my priority now shouldn't be on unrelated others, it should be on myself.

people W,Y,S,H: needless to say, those are the best friends who i can speak freely with.
lesson learnt: apart from everything, good friends will always be there for you, whether you are high or down. so what if you are broke, the richest wealth you possess is your family and your friends, cos they are never gonna be "depreciated".

Ashes Of Time

can't remember since when i started to love Wong Kar Wai's films.
i guess the first movie of his i ever loved was Chungking Express, despite its amazing cast, the movie is just so relaxing and funny and refreshing.
then it was In The Mood For Love, one of his most awarded masterpiece.
anyways, my most recent love affair with him is the Ashes Of Time Redux.Eight superstars, including my long time favorite: Tony Leong Chiu Wai, Maggie Cheung, and Leslie Cheung.
Even if you couldn't understand the plot, which i believe is much simpler this time than the original version, the acting of all actors/actresses will be a satisfaction alone. Besides, no one watches Wong's film for the plot or story. It's all about the roles' inner tanglement and the beautiful cinematograph.
And the best part of the film is the soundtrack, i personally prefer the original one, more subtle, and heartbreaking. The new version is more grande, along with Emmy-winner Ma You You's cello.
I highly doubt the film will be shown in singapore cinemas, cos I can already foresee the box office to be a disaster.

la vie à Singapour

why i just can't let myself be happy?
i want to be with my people, people who start growing apart.
if i were to regret coming to singapore, this would be the sole reason.
life basically sucks here,
i can't go out and party like Lynn, cos i dun have a Lynn here
the only thing that makes me happy these days is my cooking
